This logo is more organic in design, from the flowing ink splotch to the rough and varied strokes of the name. This was created for a freelance copywriter who wanted the look and feel of their identity to imitate classic typesetting. The brilliant blue of the ink immediately catches the eye.

A clean and simple logotype for a new, 30-year fixed home loan program for the California Housing Finance Agency. The "Cal" needed to honor the existing type treatment of the Agency's main logo. The treatment for the "30," however was chosen for its elegant and flowing strokes. The product needed to feel new and refreshing.

The logo needed to reflect the new approach that the agency was taking towards employee training. The line work is mean to represent the open pathways and networking that would result from the training.

The client wanted to emphasize that the "S" in their name stood for "Solutions." The desire was to have a logo that was easy to identify, visually bold, and brand-like in appearance. This logo works both with and without the horizontal "Solutions" line.

I incorporated bold, deep colors to give the logo a rich, strong feel. I used the white space to create an exaggerated frame and the 'palm frond' element created the artistic center piece and hinted at the client's love of Hawaii.

The program was geared towards attracting new Information Technology talent from local colleges and encouraging them to look into state government jobs. The 'In' of 'Intern' was designed to show an open door to students and the varying type intervals were to emphasize youthful professionalism.
